In a partnership between Portsmouth Guildhall, Game Over and Dice Portsmouth, there will be an unbeatable selection of consoles and games to enjoy from Pong, and Pac Man to Mario and Minecraft and board games including traditional favourites Cluedo and Monopoly to modern hits such as Dead of Winter and King of Tokyo.

Locally based market leaders in computing and custom PCs and sponsors of the event, Novatech, will also be in attendance with their Retro Arcade Virtual Reality Experience.

Daytime sessions from 11am – 5pm are open to families and players of all ages, with evening sessions from 6 – 11pm restricted to over 18s. A range of tickets are available which include free entry to the Guildhall’s Clocktower Classics Car & Family Fun Event on the following day, Sunday 19th August, 10am – 4pm.

In what is the fourth year of the annual Clocktower Classics event, Guildhall Square will be transformed with over 100 classic cars from the 1950s onwards, starring the elegantly futuristic 1966 Batmobile!

Retro music entertainment will include a Q&A with Radio 1 legend, DJ Mike Read hosted by Geoff Dorsett and Adrian Collis of Express FM’s The Soft Rock Show, Phil Freeman (formerly of Portsmouth bands Soul Society and Image) with his new band; The Class of 69 and vocal duo, It’s all in the Swing. Plus vintage hair demos by Tony Wood Hairdressing, The Swing Dance Company and stalls including a surname historian. And with prizes for the best 50s and 60s outfits on offer, dressing up is positively encouraged.

Clocktower Classics is the ultimate family day out with all the fun of the fair including Bowling, Crazy Golf, Buzz Game and Nerf Shooting, sporting activities including Table Tennis and Badminton provided by BH Live, a Virtual Reality Track Experience from Novatech, Retro Gaming and Scalextric with Game Over, a musical wonderland for 0-5s with Jiggy Wrigglers, face painting and more.
