ABOUT DADZCLUB

Taking a look at all things dad; tackling isolation and building a supportive network of fathers Dadzclub is for dads that think that fatherhood is more than just babysitting the kids to give Mum a break. Fatherhood has evolved far beyond the age old gender stereotypes of what dads used to be… and the whole family is benefitting!

At the heart of Dadzclub is family and the wellbeing of children; Dadzclub promotes positive fathering and the role father figures play. It acts to celebrate and encourage best parental practice and help fathers in further need of support to be the best father figures they can be.

We run free to attend weekly Dadzclub workshops and stay ‘n’ play sessions within Buckland, Paulsgrove and Milton Family Hubs as well as regular meets for activities such as soft play, hiking, picnics, laser quest and bowling!

For those dads who maybe need a little more support or are keen to explore fatherhood more deeply and gain some valuable parenting and life skills our fully accredited iCan Dad course is ideal for you! Sessions run for just a few hours a week over 12 weeks. Dads can self refer by getting in touch with us, speak with a family support worker at any Portsmouth Family Hub or your Health Visitor.

DADZCLUB IN ACTION!

HOW DADZCLUB RUNZ

1
Support

It’s never easy being a parent and we understand that. That’s why we help fathers in further need of support to be the best father figures they can be.

The best way to become a confident parent is talking with other parents about their experiences and to learn from them.

2
Learning

We’re firm believers that there is no such thing as a perfect parent; nor is there an all knowing oracle to solve all our parenting problems.

The best way to learn, develop and better ourselves is through relationships with other parents. Other dads.

3
Wellbeing

At the heart of Dadzclub is family and the wellbeing of children; Dadzclub promotes positive fathering and the role father figures play.

We act to celebrate and encourage best parental practices in caring for a raising your children.

Time to Change is a growing social movement working to change the way we all think and act about mental health problems. We’ve already reached millions of people and begun to improve attitudes and behaviour.

Despite the progress we’ve made, we know that many people still don’t consider mental health relevant to them. They don’t believe mental health problems are likely to affect them or people they know.

But the reality is that mental health can affect anyone. Statistically, 1 in 4 of us will fight a mental health problem in any given year. That’s why our work is so important. No one should have to fear being treated differently because of a mental health problem.
