The Portsmouth Baby Bank aims to help alleviate child poverty and support families during times of financial and emotional stress, whilst reducing waste and promoting reuse of items.
We collect baby clothes, toiletries, equipment, cots, prams and toys that are pre-loved, and pass them on to families in need. We receive referrals from health visitors, children’s centres and other local professionals who work with vulnerable families. Our service is provided for free. We aim for all donations go directly to the families that we support.
Donate Items to Portsmouth Baby Bank
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and our limited storage capacity, we can only accept donations when we have the space to store them. Please see our monthly wish list to find out which items we are currently running low on and to find out how to donate them to us.
Submit a referral for a family in need
We invite referrals from all agencies and organisations that are in contact with vulnerable families to make sure that they are provided with items to ensure their babies’ basic needs are met.
We regret that we cannot have direct contact with families themselves.
If you need help and would like to be referred to Portsmouth Baby Bank, please request a referral through your Health Visitor, Midwife, Family Support Worker, Social Prescriber, Citizens Advice, Social Worker or another relevant professional.
We also maintain an Amazon wishlist for those who like to support us but maybe would rather like to purchase some items for local families.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission.
Please note that we are open from 9:30am till 2:30pm weekdays only.
