Marketing Manager

Job Title: Marketing Manager

Hours: 25 hours per week (flexible working, including occasional evenings and weekends)
Pay: £16.04 per hour
Salary: £20,845 per annum, (FTE): £31,251 per annum
Location: The Forge, Portsmouth
Reports to: COO
Contract: 1 Year, Fixed-term with the intention to extend to a permanent role, subject to funding

Are you a creative, organised, and digital-savvy professional with a passion for parenting and community? The Parenting Network is looking for a part-time Marketing Manager to help us grow our reach, tell our story, and connect with families across the region. Based at our vibrant hub, The Forge in Portsmouth, this is a unique opportunity to make a real difference while shaping the voice of a rapidly growing third sector organisation.


The Role

You’ll lead on the delivery of engaging, accessible and impactful marketing across all channels. From digital campaigns and community engagement to storytelling and event promotion, your work will be vital in ensuring that families know what we offer and how to get involved.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, create and deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns
  • Manage and grow our digital platforms (website, social media, e-newsletters)
  • Increase our visibility and grow our audience.
  • Produce engaging content that reflects our values and voice
  • Design and distribute promotional materials for events, services, and outreach
  • Work with project leads to promote services and events effectively
  • Plan and deliver in-house and public-facing events that engage our audiences
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance, adjusting strategies as needed
  • Coordinate PR, local media, and promotional opportunities
  • Contribute to impact reporting and storytelling for funders and stakeholders


What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Demonstrable experience in marketing, with a strong digital focus
  • Expertise in leveraging trends and platform algorithms to ensure content reaches the widest possible audience
  • Knowledge and lived or professional experience of parenting culture and communities
  • Excellent communication and content creation skills
  • Ability to plan and deliver engaging marketing events
  • Ability to design and create high-quality promotional materials
  • Confident using a range of digital tools and platforms including social media management suites, design software, email marketing systems, website and SEO tools, analytics dashboards, CRM platforms, paid advertising channels, and project collaboration tools.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and confident working independently
  • Empathetic, values-led, and able to connect with diverse audiences
  • Excellent photography or video editing skills

Desirable:

  • Experience in the charity/third sector or family-focused initiatives
  • Familiarity with the Portsmouth area and local family networks

Wellbeing Coordinator

Job Title: Wellbeing Coordinator
Location: The Forge, Portsmouth

About the Role:

The Wellbeing Coordinator will lead on delivering a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for individuals who have experienced significant challenges, including childhood trauma. You will provide both practical and emotional support through drop-in services and structured group work, with a strong emphasis on building trust and empowering participants on their personal journeys.


Key Responsibilities

  • Welcoming Service/Drop-In
  • Deliver a friendly, trauma-informed and non-judgemental drop-in service from The Forge.
  • Build positive relationships with individuals accessing the space.
  • Signpost to appropriate internal and external services as needed.

EMBRACE Groups (x2 per week):

  • Facilitate two EMBRACE peer support groups each week.
  • Ensure sessions are well-prepared, emotionally safe, and responsive to the needs of the group.
  • Promote self-awareness, resilience, and personal growth within the group setting.

Support and Empowerment:

  • Provide one-to-one wellbeing support as required.
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries, safeguarding, and confidentiality.
  • Recognise and respond to signs of trauma, distress, or risk.

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Contribute to impact reporting and reflective practice.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records of group attendance and individual support.

Teamwork:

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across The Parenting Network and partner organisations.
  • Attend team meetings, reflective practice sessions, and relevant training.


Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience supporting people who have experienced childhood trauma or significant life challenges.
  • A trauma-informed approach with strong emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Confidence in facilitating groups and encouraging participation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and appropriate referral processes.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in counselling, psychology, social work, or similar.
  • Experience working in a community-based or peer-led project.
  • Familiarity with the principles of lived experience leadership.

About the Role:

The Parenting Network (TPN) is seeking a passionate and community-driven Cultures & Communities Outreach Worker to lead a new programme celebrating cultural diversity and empowering communities across Portsmouth.


You will play a key role in delivering our “In Our Words” initiative – a series of cultural storytelling events created in partnership with Portsmouth Creates. These events will be co-produced with community groups and celebrate heritage through stories, food, and the arts.


Working from our new Bridge Hub in Fratton, you will also be out in the community building relationships, connecting with families, and identifying needs. You'll support groups to feel safe, seen and included, and encourage them to engage in our wider services.


This role will particularly suit someone with a strong understanding of the barriers many diverse communities face.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with local community groups, especially from ethnic minority backgrounds
  • Support co-production and delivery of 8–10 cultural events across the year
  • Work flexibly to attend community meetings and deliver family-friendly activities
  • Signpost and connect families to The Parenting Network’s wider services
  • Collect and respond to feedback to shape ongoing activity
  • Promote events and community involvement through outreach, in collaboration with our partners


Person Specification:

  • Passion for community empowerment, diversity and inclusion
  • Experience of community work, outreach or facilitation (paid or voluntary)
  • Confident working with families and in diverse cultural settings
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
